The Brand

History
Comrags, established in 1983 by Joyce Gunhouse and Judy Cornish, has evolved from a small, local design team into one of Canada’s most well-known labels.
Comrags clothes are for those of any age; those with a modern attitude toward style; those with self-confidence. Comrags is proud to say that it is still made in Canada.

Flagship
Our flagship boutique is located in the Trinity-Bellwoods neighbourhood in the heart of downtown Toronto, Canada. This up and coming area – nestled between Little Portugal, China Town, and Kensington Market – is filled with unique restaurants and boutiques including Heartbreak Chef, The Black Hoof, Bookhou, La Palma, and many more.

Studio
Located above our retail store, the Comrags studio presents a traditional approach to design and clothing production; from start to finish, each garment is produced in-house. Designers Joyce Gunhouse and Judy Cornish begin designing a collection by selecting unusual fabrics from a handful of European mills. Working intimately with a small team, Gunhouse and Cornish have maintained their hands-on approach for thirty years. This creative process goes beyond simply sketching ideas, and embraces draping, drafting, sewing, and arguing as the greatest sources of inspiration.
