Cotton Biflex Every wardrobe starts with the basics, so we've done a collection of cotton two-way stretch, bottom weight separates. The City Skirt is a new silhouette for us - tight and short! It's very French, with lots of stretch for comfort. We've done three lengths of pants, all with a low rise, suitable for the mature woman: Gwynnies, Kelvins, and Caddy's.

Dresses Easy bias-cut dresses and vintage-inspired dresses are our signatures. We are always looking for unique prints (Satin Twill) and drapey plains (Georgette). Whenever we find a great print, or colour, we'll pick it up and throw in a few limited edition dresses, that carry the "keeper" hang tag. Check our stores regularly to see what's new. The Balfour, Martella, and Dainty Slip are perfect examples of the flattering easy wear bias dresses we are known for. Nice open v-necklines are flattering to every age and body type. Of course, we also have the perfect Basic Slip to wear under all these sheer colours. Nude shows best this season. Our Basic Slip is a great investment because it is designed to hide your bra straps and to show off all your curves. The chaos of stitching and gathers seen on the Secret styles manage to suggest a classic vintage detail but in reality is achieved in the most non-traditional way. Pleating, gathers, tucks and appliqués give this group texture and shape.

Jersey We always have a strong collection of knits - we love the easy care and wear of washable jerseys. We pay attention to seaming to create a snug fit that doesn't pull or bind. We also add the extra length in our t-shirts because we know not everyone has the belly of a sixteen year old! The Hound Dog Dress has all the appeal of a vintage dress but with none of the fuss - it literally is pulled on and is as easy to wear as a t-shirt. The Miriam Dress is also easy to pull on, but it is beautifully seamed to fit the contours of your body, without being clingy. Our basic Shell is also available printed. We are so happy with all the knit colours, that we chose to print some tone on tone, and some super contrast. |

Eyelet Eyelet is such an appealing fabric. It feels familiar, and is full of memories whether they are real or imagined. Eyelet is also very important for Spring 2003. We thought we should do pieces that could be worn everyday, all summer long! Fading and wear will make you love your eyelet piece all the more! The Soft-Serve Skirt has an easy waist, fitted yoke and a generous flounce. Wear this sexy skirt with your highest sandals or your favourite sneakers. We love having the freedom to take a classic men's golfing jacket, our Slappy, and make it in a pretty eyelet fabric. You can't get much better than that!

Stretch Plaid Inspired by this big, geeky plaid we put together a wardrobe that any mod hipster would die for. The Trevor Jacket is like a little boy's trench - sweet and cool. Dare to be bold and wear the Trevor Jacket with matching Kelvin Jeans. This slim little boy look can be worn by all, thanks to the stretch in the fabric. Pull on our terrific Fringe Pant and head to the playground!

Crushed Cotton Nylon Fabrics are often the main source of inspiration. We were thrilled to find this techno-fabric that has a permanent crush in it, and is also wind/water repellent. The metal creates crush and shape. Inspired by the fabric's properties we designed a little "cargo" group. Pockets, stitching and drawstrings accentuate the shape and crush of the fabric. Top off your low-slung easy-fit cargos with a tiny fitting boyish Dale Jacket and you are all set for city living. Remember those Anoraks from high school? Well, they're back - be ever so modern when you pair the sporty Anorak with our tight City Skirt. We finished this group with a little gauze Colonel Shirt in wool.

Cotton Shirting
A crisp clean shirt is a great piece to add to your collection. Everyone looks put together when they throw on a nice white (or bright) cotton shirt. The sleeveless Dolores Shirt is so great that we literally have had it in every spring collection since its conception. Each new shirt this season has a detail to flatter every body type. The Shirtly has a little drawstring that draws attention away from any little belly you may want to hide! (wear with a Soft-Serve Skirt) The Piper Shirt is crisp and formal but not too intimidating because of the flirty little gathers at the cap sleeve (wear this with the City Skirt). The Holiday Shirt has that perfect 'fifties beatnik housewife' look - especially in a retro shade of aqua (wear this shirt with black Gwynnies). Want it even easier than a shirt and pants? How about the Alcoa, a sleeveless shirt dress; so simple with a zipper and an apron skirt?

Linen Linen is a centuries old fabric that takes colour beautifully. The natural properties of linen, such as crushing and fading, add to its appeal. This season we have used a high-quality Irish linen in a simple bias Slip which we are offering both long and short. We've lined the linen Soft-Serve Skirt to enhance its shape, but we've left the Dale Jacket unlined to create a more shirt-like piece.
